It has been confirmed that late term abortionist George Tiller was shot and killed today at his church. As abhorrent and morally repugnant as I and others found the manner in which Dr. Tiller pursued his chosen profession, it is impossible to argue that all human life has value and is precious to God while condoning murderous violence as a solution to the abortion issue. The violence and disregard of human value demonstrated in the practice of abortion is the very thing that we stand against as those dedicated to the principle that all human life ought to be treated with dignity and respect.
This is a terrible end to a life that was tragically misspent.
This is very sad. Mark and I took our girls, including Donna Joy, whose life could have been taken in Wichita, to Mr. Tiller's abortion center last year. (Here is a link to her story for folks who do not know it)http://www.ambassadorspeakers.com/ACP/speakers.aspx?speaker=1216&cat=0
ReplyDeleteI begged him by phone and mail to meet with us. To meet Donna Joy and see what God has done in her life. We wanted so much to share Christ with him.We wanted to see him saved, not killed. But, his heart was hard. This is indeed, a tragic end to a life spent seeking the things of the world, and not seeking the face of God, the creator of all life. I do hope his family will seek the comfort that can come only from Christ. My heart is very heavy for them today.
Over the next few days, there will be many nominal pro-lifers whose confidence will be radically shaken. Worse, the abortion industry will pounce on this murder and paint the entire pro-life movement as dangerous terrorists.
ReplyDeleteIt would probably be very helpful to everyone concerned if LTI were to post a very detailed treatment of this subject, explaining why it's morally wrong to kill abortionists ... especially when a killer tries to justify his action as a defense of the unborn and/or "the Christian thing to do."
